How is filament cost calculated for a 3D print?
Filament grams are divided by spool grams and multiplied by the spool price. This values only the estimated material used by the print, before failure allowance or markup.
How does electricity affect the print cost?
Printer watts are converted to kilowatts, then multiplied by print hours and your electricity rate. Enter a representative average power value rather than the printer's peak rating when available.
Is the quoted price the same as the production cost?
No. Estimated cost includes the itemized costs and failure allowance. The quote adds your chosen markup. Taxes, platform fees, packing and shipping remain outside the calculation.
