Formula and assumptions
Total area = quantity × π × (diameter ÷ 2)². Usable area = quantity × π × max(radius minus crust, 0)². Lower price per usable area wins.
Prices and crust widths are your inputs. The result is a geometric comparison, not a serving recommendation.

Questions this calculator answers
Are two 12-inch pizzas bigger than one 18-inch pizza?
Enter 12 inches with a quantity of two in one option and 18 inches with a quantity of one in the other. The calculator compares their circular areas and shows the difference. Price and crust width can change which option offers better value.
Why does the calculator remove the crust area?
The optional crust width estimates the inner area you may treat as usable. Set crust width to zero if you want to compare the full circular area instead.
Does the larger-area option always cost less per bite?
No. The result uses the prices you enter and reports price per unit of usable area. It does not measure slice size, toppings, thickness or how much each person will eat.
