Quick answer

Choose whether each container amount means final filled weight or wax weight. The calculator separates wax and fragrance for the full batch, then adds the reserve percentage to both.

Best for
Planning wax and fragrance amounts for identical containers when the target amount, fragrance load and batch quantity are known.
Not for
Selecting a safe fragrance load, wick, wax type, cure time or container specification.

Formula and assumptions

Final-weight basis: wax = target batch ÷ (1 + load); fragrance = target batch minus wax. Wax-weight basis: fragrance = wax × load. Reserve multiplies both by (1 + reserve).

Check the wax supplier’s fragrance limit and test a small batch before scaling.

FAQ

Questions this calculator answers

Is fragrance load based on wax weight or final candle weight?

Both conventions are available. Final-weight basis treats fragrance as part of the target fill. Wax-weight basis adds fragrance as a percentage of wax. Select the convention used by your recipe or supplier.

What does the reserve percentage cover?

Reserve adds extra wax and fragrance for material left in the pouring vessel, small spills or measurement variation. Set it to zero when no extra batch allowance is wanted.

Can I use any fragrance load the calculator accepts?

No. The field is an editable planning input, not a safety limit. Check the maximum load and testing guidance supplied for the exact wax and fragrance combination.
