Formula and assumptions
Alcoholic servings = drinking guests × hours × entered rate. Mix shares are normalized. Beer servings round up. Wine uses a fixed planning assumption of 5 servings per bottle. Spirits use a fixed planning assumption of 16 pours per bottle. Nonalcoholic servings use all guests.
Actual alcohol content, serving sizes and container sizes vary. Check labels, local law and venue rules.

Questions this calculator answers
Are nonalcoholic drinks calculated for every guest?
Yes. The nonalcoholic estimate uses all guests, including guests also counted in the alcoholic drink plan. Adjust its hourly rate to reflect water and other beverages supplied separately.
What happens if beer, wine and spirit shares do not total 100 percent?
The calculator normalizes any positive shares into a complete mix before allocating servings. If every share is zero, it asks for at least one positive value instead of producing a false result.
Why does the formula use 5 wine servings and 16 spirit pours per bottle?
Those are fixed planning assumptions used by this calculator before rounding to whole bottles. Actual bottle sizes, pours and alcohol content vary, so edit the plan outside the calculator when your venue or product labels specify different servings.
